Monday May 7th, 2012 meeting
09.00-13.00
Ms. Ewelina Firszt - coordinator: Welcome and agenda presentation,
definition of pratical agreements.
Presentation of each partner experience.
All the partners presents their dissemination activities reports as well.
Each partner presented its experience on the training course. Polish, Italian and
Turkish partners expressed orally their results Spanish partner showed a
presentation about the two years experience done and exploitation of the results.
Training sessions:
Poland: Polish partner organized training for social workers and trainers on 24th
August in Public Library in Wieliczka. The training took 3 hours and there was 4
participants. The participants were informed about the project, its aim and
activities. Then they were informed about the aim of the training and how to use
it in their work. All the participants were satisfied with the training and find it
very useful for their work. None of them had a chance to participate in art
therapy training in this form before.
The training for adult learners started on 8th October in Public Library in
Wieliczka. Before the partners meeting in Satriano there was 3 meeting (8th,
15th and 22nd October). The last one is planned on 5th November. All together
there were 4 meetings – 1,5 hours every meeting.
They also find quite difficult to open themselves fully during the classes. Working
with emotions is something that they have not been doing so far on the training.
The complete evaluation of the training will be done after the training is finished.
Learner have also chance to take part in English lessons which area part of
preparation for the international meetings, in which learners will be active
participants.
Turkey: As Turkish partner, Art Therapy is very new. We had never had Art
Therapy in our city before the project. I can say that it even sound strange to
people when we say Art Therapy.
We started to start with the people who are already our learners/trainees in our
Art (painting) classes. Since art is something they like very much and they feel
confident, they wanted to join our classes. Most of these people have got
certification in art (artist or art trainer) and they wanted to learn about the
sessions and modules of Art Therapy Classes so that they can use them in their
classes that they attend as trainers and learners.
We had 4 sessions with the groups and at the end of the sessions they were
quite happy with their experience and they said they can use our modules in
their classes in the future, they found it quite enjoyable.
Our trainees who are mostly teachers of different subjects, workers, artists,
music and art trainers, phsychologists and directors also found them quite
useful. The psychologists that we had the training with also have positive
opinions about it. In our Art Therapy classes, we had mixed classes, men and
women.
Spain: First of all, 2 members of the Association attended a course of Art
Therapy. Then We have made a Kit of training session for trainers: 4 sessions, 2
in July and 2 in september3 hours each one, with the aim of texting the Kit.
For the last step We have planned to undertake the workshops with older people.
To start with, we propose three initial meetings, with the objective to sound out
the needs of the older people who are interested in Art Therapy.
In order to apply the methodology of art therapy in other field, We start to use it
in our activities regarding youth people.
At now We are developing, according to art therapy methodology, a project,
Youth programme, Action 1.2: Puppet theatre for young people, immigrants and
locals together in order to promote the integration.
We start a collaboration with a young art therapist in order to apply in the
development of our activities the art therapy methodology and principle.
For this reason We have just presents a project, in Youth programme, Action 1.2
National Youth Initiative about art therapy in a disadvantage suburb of Granada.
In the framework of Youth programme, Action 2, We have just started EVS
programme: “Puppet Theatre for older people” in order to apply methodology of
art therapy to promote intergenerational exchange.
ITALY: It develop the course in December.
We started again the works at 16.00 p.m. with the carrying out of Art therapy
session held by an Art therapist expertise Giacomo Cardoni.
Tuesday May 8th, 2012 meeting
The morning was dedicated to the final report with the definitions of partners
tasks in order to fulfill it.
As regards the project outcomes, we decided to make a Video according to
the material produced during the project development:
. Each partner has to deliver the latest on May 22, 50 photo to Spanish
partner in order to make the Video and upload it on YouTube.
. Each partner has to send to the coordinator a short description of art
therapy in their own country.
Then we passed to the meeting evaluation: they distributed to the participants
the evaluation questionnaires prepared by Asociación Laboratorio Creactiva.
At last the meeting attendance certificates were distributed.
In the afternoon the whole group had free time to visit the city.
In the night the group had the dinner together.

2nd project meeting Cracovia-Poland
6th June
The second project meeting took place in Cracow and started on Monday 6th June at 2p.m.
All project members met in the hotel lobby and went to the location of the reserved conference room. The project coordinator who hosted the meeting welcomed everyone. All the participants briefly introduced themselves.
After a short introduction the Italian partners made their presentation about their institution as they could not participate in the first project meeting in Turkey.
To start with we reviewed the project. Between the first project meeting and the one in Cracow we lost one of the partners – Greece. The foundation was closed down, and we have to reschedule some activities.
That is why we had to yet again change the meeting schedule.
Decision: Meeting in Greece deleted. Meeting in Italy moved from March 2012 to 20-24 October 2011. Meeting in Spain without changes (June 2012).
During the meeting in Italy there will be workshops for learners organized. Therefore all the organizations should bring as many students as possible.
The next item on the agenda, was to discuss activities that have already happened:
- preparation of the questionnaires by Spanish partners – prepared on time. All the partners translated them into their languages and conducted the surveys in their institutions.
The reports on the questionnaires should be delivered in writing to the project coordinator by the end of June.
- Website – Launched by the Spanish partners on a free platform. There should be a couple of changes made and the project logo added.
- project logo – previously prepared by the Greek partners. However we were unable to make necessary changes to it, e.g. remove the flags of ex-partners . we have a Spanish learner who studies art; she has offered to prepare the logo by the mid July.
- project evaluation – the Italian partners provided a template for the evaluation of project meetings, which we all completed at the end of the meeting. We have also decided to evaluate training groups at the beginning and the end of the training sessions. The evaluation will consist of a short survey and interviews.
- project dissemination – the project coordinator delivered a scheme for the dissemination of the results. We have agreed to disseminate the project on a local level through the project website, partners’ organizations websites, facebook, participating in the events of art therapy etc.
- communication – we decided to improve our communication by establishing a 3 days period where partners should response to each other’s e-mails promptly. When necessary there will be skype sessions organized. We should also use the facebook website as a mean of communication.
The first day session was finished at 6 p.m. and was proceeded by dinner in a restaurant with local cuisine.
7th June
The meeting started at 9 a.m.
Using the internet we were able to present our project website and the websites of the partner’s organizations.
Then we discussed the chosen target groups, their adequacy to the project’s aims and objectives. The art therapy teachers shared with all the participants their previous experiences and the situation in their regions. This was a great opportunity for the art therapy teachers to find out the differences and similarities and how to use all that knowledge (know-how) to develop the project activities and obtain the best results.
The Spanish art therapy teacher Monia Frau shared her experience from the course that is organized in her city for all the pedagogues who would like to enter the art therapy into their activities. Those methods are very attractive and not developed in other countries. We decided to use this course and develop it in our project in all the partners’ countries. The course methodology will be translated into English and sent by Spanish partners to all of the partners by 24th June. All the art teachers will familiarize themselves with the methodology and will train at least 5 pedagogues in every country by the end of August. The training sessions will last 2-4 hours and will be finished with a short survey about the used tools.
Each partner decided on their target groups. The sessions with learners will take place between September 2011 and March 2012. The sessions will last at least one month. And there will be a short survey at the beginning and at the end of the conducted training.
At the end of our meeting we discussed the one year report. The draft of the report will be written and send out to the partners by the coordinator by the 22nd June.
The meeting was finished by 1 p.m. after all the partners completed their meeting evaluation forms. After the meeting all the participants went for lunch. And in the afternoon there was guided trip organized and common dinner.

What we did:
On the first day of the visit we all went to the governorship building where the governors and the province directors offices are located. We first visited the director of the host organization (Adana Il Kultur ve Turism Directorate), Osman Arik. He gave the partners a presentation about Adana; he gave us information about the history of Adana and the towns of Adana. Many civilizations lived in Adana and its towns so there are a lot of historical, ancient ruins; castles, bridges, ruins of ancient towns, etc.
After our visit to the director, we went to visit the deputy governor Mustafa Yuksel Karadag who is responsible of Culture and Tourism Directorate in Adana. He welcome our project partners and told us how important the projects and project meetings are for the people living in different European countries to get to know each other and the culture of the project partners and break the prejudices.
Our last visit was to the Deputy governor Halis Arslan who was responsible of Culture and Tourism Directorate when we submitted our project in February 2010 and who had encouraged us to take part in this project. He told our project partners that he was very happy to have taken part in this project and very glad to be meeting and hosting our partners in Adana.
After we finished our visits in the governorship building, in the afternoon we attended a traditional Turkish art exhibition. That art is called ‘Ebru’ and it is the kind of art which is believed to be very therapeutic. The artist Miss Aysegul showed us her products and gave us very useful information about the art of Ebru and she helped us to try performing Ebru and our partners were very successful in doing that. She gave our partners the pieces that they produced together.
We finished the first part of our meeting in the evening and went to the art gallery of the host organization to attend the opening ceremony of an art exhibition. During the art exhibition the director gave information to the public about our project and our project partners. The exhibition was one of our activities to give information to the people living in Adana about our project. After a few speeches, the artists and the visitors of the exhibition started asking our partners questions and learn about the project and their country or culture or their organizations. This afternoon and the next day we had sessions to revise our project. We worked until the afternoon. In the afternoon, when we had time, we visited some of the historical and cultural places in Adana.
