ABOUT THE PROJECT

In the 2010 European Year in the fight against poverty and social exclusion; our project intends to reveal the entirety of human being in the physical, mental and spiritual fields. In whole, that what could bring us this spiritual richness we need so much. An insufficient knowledge of the entirety of man, and a partial understanding of his needs, had born many illusory ideas about what the “care”, for the people with different handicaps should look like. These ideas are based on the misuse of power of the individuals working in the social field, and in worst cases, the manipulation of those who can hardly defend themselves.

On this background, our project aims to built a creative training kit in social art therapy, containing methods and approaches which meet the target groups' particular needs, and which will make learning more interesting, increase the motivation of learners and their responsibility for learning, improve self-esteem, reduce adult learners anxiety, stress affective components of learning, etc.

The educational approach will be experiential in a non-formal and informal context exploring and using the existing skills and talents of the participants; developing as necessary, new and appropriate skills. It includes research regarding the use of Art Therapy training modules in vocational training, in different social fields at the level of partners' countries, developing training sessions (on a common agreed learning framework) in Art Therapy on pilot groups of social workers and a "test-training module", inserted in "official curricula" of a vocational program in social fields.

The project provides, (in each partners context), flexibility to develop appropriate action and allows participants to develop managerial capacity, both of the project and of their own personal needs and requirements.
